Textile label certification

The voluntary product certification scheme developed by ETKO based on the "GB/T 8685-2008 Textiles - Maintenance Labeling Code" is designed to address issues within the domestic textile industry. This certification scheme has the following key objectives and advantages:

Standardized Design and Usage of Maintenance Labels: This scheme places a strong emphasis on ensuring the standardized design and correct usage of maintenance labels. This helps reduce the risk of small and medium-sized textile enterprises misusing maintenance labels when catering to the domestic market.

Traceability Management System: It assesses whether suppliers can ensure the proper usage of maintenance labels through their traceability management systems. This enhances transparency and quality management throughout the entire supply chain.

Compliance Certificates: ETKO issues compliance certificates after evaluating a supplier's maintenance labels and traceability management system. This increases the supplier's confidence in compliance and also helps build trust in product quality among buyers and consumers.

Addressing Import Challenges: With the growing influx of foreign textile products into the Chinese market, ensuring that their maintenance labels meet China's standard requirements is of utmost importance. ETKO plans to extend this certification service to foreign manufacturers and exporters to assist them in meeting the demands of the Chinese market and promote the development of textile import trade.

The implementation of this certification scheme is expected to assist in addressing the challenges that domestic textile enterprises may face in the domestic market. Additionally, it helps enhance compliance of imported textile products in the Chinese market. By ensuring the correct usage of maintenance labels, this scheme can improve product quality and traceability, ultimately enhancing the reputation and competitiveness of the entire textile industry. This is crucial for adapting to changes in the Chinese market and international trade.

This plan is applicable to the maintenance label compliance certification of clothing textiles, including woven clothing, knitted and crocheted clothing, fur and leather clothing, but excluding special clothing, clothing accessories, and personal protective equipment.

Special clothing: including military uniforms, standard clothing, professional clothing, etc.

Clothing accessories refer to the general term for personal items used to decorate and protect the body in clothing, including hats, headscarves, headbands, ties, neckties, scarves, shawls, handkerchiefs, gloves, socks, belts, shoes (boots), raincoats, rain gear, bags, ticket holders, etc.

Personal protective equipment: Equipment or supplies that come into direct contact with the human body for the purpose of protecting the safety and health of workers, formerly known as labor protective equipment.
